"The early Christians had no Book as yet. They had a Person. That made religion not obedience to a Law but the living out of a Life--from the letter to the spirit. When they did get the Book, these words took them by the hand and led them beyond the words to the Word made flesh--to the Person." - Mastery, by E. Stanley Jones
We read this quote sent from a friend and it reminded us again of the brilliance and beauty of what we call the incarnation of God: the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, the "Word made flesh." In Christ, God has entered into our humanity. He loves, understands, and redeems us. This is good news, dear friends! We follow a living Lord who broke into human history and through his Spirit continues to break into our lives. As we read the scriptures, he is the one lifted up. As the great missionary to India, E. Stanley Jones implies, the written Word leads us to the living Word. With this good news, we want to wish you the merriest Christmas celebration!
