Meet a New Teleios Board Member

Updated: Sep 11, 2023

Please join us in welcoming new Teleios board member, Roger Eigsti!

My wife Mary Lou, two children, and I moved to Mercer Island from Vancouver, WA, in the summer of 1972. Shortly thereafter, I began to attend a Bible study at Larry Mounger's home. Larry's brother-in-law, Connie Jacobsen, was our teacher and had just founded--or was in the process of founding--Teleios. Our family started attending Westminster Chapel of Bellevue in October 1972, where we continue to attend--now 50 years later. I guess you could call us church-hoppers!

In 2002, we bought a condo in Rancho Mirage, California, where we began spending the winters. A couple years later, a friend invited me to join a Teleios group in Palm Desert. Most of the men are from the Seattle area, so we meet from November-April each year when we're in the desert. When COVID hit, we continued to meet every week, year-round, either on Zoom in person. When I first started to attend, there were about six of us, and it's now grown to more than 20. This is a very special group, and we have grown close together and share our personal lives openly. I think we all look forward to our Thursday morning time together to study God's word and share our lives.

I've spent a number of years in the winters participating in a weekly prison ministry about 80 miles from Rancho Mirage. After discussing the ministry when Art was visiting several years ago, he invited me to attend DADS when home in Seattle. I was hooked on my first visit and continue to attend DADS, either in person or on Zoom.
